OUR PACK

Who We Are

Pack 991 is the Cub Scout Pack servicing Emerald Hills, Redwood City, and Woodside, California. Our Pack is in the Redwood District of the Pacific Skyline Council in the Boy Scouts of America.

Cub Scouting is fun for the whole family.  In Scouting, boys and girls start with their best right now selves and grow into their very best future selves. It’s fun, hands-on learning and achievement that puts kids in the middle of the action and prepares them for today – and for life.

   LEADING YOUTH TO LIFELONG VALUES

Our mission is to provide neighborhood boys grades K-5th with opportunities for fun and challenging activities that promote character development and physical fitness. We are a family-centered program and welcome parents and siblings to join at events.

The pack meets 2-3 times a month, generally at Elk’s Lodge in Redwood City.

What We Offer

Dens meet once a month, based on member schedules and location will vary based on rank activities (“go sees”, hikes, workshops, etc.).

And once a month, there is an optional “pack-tivity“.

Previous “pack-tivities” have included:

  • Camping: Cub-on, Webelos extreme, Angel Island, Huddart Park.

  • Sleepovers: Academy of Sciences SF Zoo, USS Hornet, Chabot Observatory.

  • Service Projects: Serving Veterans, Scouting for Food, City Trees, One Warm Coat, Toys for Tots, Beach Clean-up, Memorial Day Flags.

All of our “pack-tivities” and rank activities have elements of the 12 core themes of scouting; honesty, cooperation, responsibility, citizenship, respect, positive attitude, resourcefulness, compassion, faith, health and fitness, perseverance, and courage.

We will have a  recruiting night in August. each year, where you can receive an on-boarding packet, meet our den leaders, register your son, and participate in a presentation/Q&A session for more information. All while your son meets his future den mates while playing games.
